Does the FOP Support the KCRCC?

Yes. Most FOP members very much support the KCRCC and the Republican Party platform. When we held our fundraiser at Nashville North we gladly allowed them to promote the Lincoln Dinner, and we even purchased a table for it. For those who attended it was a great event. But after they overwhelmingly "recommended" Marc Eberlein for county commissioner, we realized something was not right. It's not because they didn't vote for our endorsed candidates, but in a four way race they picked the worst candidate possible for public safety.

His voting record as a one term commissioner to cut the Sheriff's Office budget really hurt us. It was during his term that over 100 very good employees left. Many of these people were some of our best deputies who left for better pay and promotions at other local agencies.

We could not understand how Central Committee members (who we thought supported our local law enforcement) could anonymously vote for a candidate who hurt our Sheriff's Office as much as he did. After the recommendation vote, we spoke to a number of Central Committee members and they were not aware of commissioner Marc Eberlein's voting record (CLICK HERE). Why didn't they know when they cast their vote for him? We don't know who the 11 people are who didn't vote for him, but almost four times more voted for Eberlein.

If the public or current KCRCC membership has any question why we provided more names for the public to consider for these positions, it should be clear in the lopsided vote to support a candidate with a terrible public safety track record. Does the current KCRCC membership really support our local Sheriff's Office and if they do why did they vote to recommend a guy who did so much to hurt it?
